Hi, I’m Grace.

On LinkedIn, my job title is 'brand designer and marketing consultant,' but over a drink at a bar, I simply call myself a freelance graphic designer. Regardless of the label, my work remains the same: helping companies effectively communicate with people through the harmony of words and images. People, after all, are a beautiful mix of logic and emotion. Thus, I specialize in crafting language and imagery that not only respects context but also resonates with the hearts and minds of audiences.

About Me

My creative curiosity started as a child hanging around my dad’s art gallery and design firm, Dean Johnson. I really developed as a student at Anderson University where I earned a bachelors in visual communication design. Since then, I’ve built relationships with clients from bootstrapped start-ups to billion-dollar publicly traded companies.

I started my career in traditional advertising at Publicis Indianapolis. Then, I gained tremendous experience in digital marketing as an art director at Element Three for enterprise clients including BraunAbility, CoreLogic, and KAR Global. I’ve had opportunities to help B2B and B2C brands define and refine their visual identity.

While most designers avoid PowerPoint at all costs, I leaned into it as a powerful mechanism for corporate storytelling. I’ve designed and helped craft the scripts for investor presentations at the New York Stock Exchange. I’ve worked hand-in-hand with executives at leading insurtech companies to craft presentations that communicate their corporate vision and product strategy for national sales meetings and industry conferences. And, I’ve worked with numerous startups to develop brand stories that help secure funding to build companies.

I’m passionate about using thoughtful design and compelling creative to simplify complex information and expand access to knowledge.
